  • The regular City Council meeting is held on the second Monday of each month. Special City Council meetings may be held as the need arises. All City Council agendas are posted at least 72 hours prior to the meeting on the front window and back door of City Hall and also on this website:

  • The city calculates the residential monthly sewer bill based on the average water usage for November, December and January of each year. In March, the sewer bill is calculated and remains the same until the following March.

  • The City of Rockdale does not issue business licenses. Water, sewer and trash services are available through the City of Rockdale and all persons considering locating a business in Rockdale are highly encouraged to discuss their ideas with the Community Services Department prior to buying any property or opening a business.

  • Any business selling door-to-door must first submit a $1,000 surety bond, a state sales tax identification number, a copy of each person’s driver’s license, a description of the vehicle each person will be driving and detailed information on what each person is selling to the city secretary at: P.O.     Also, a $75 per-business license fee and a fee of $50 for each additional person under the same license must be paid. Permits are issued for a 90-day time period.

  • The City of Rockdale does not maintain a bidders list. Each department is responsible for ordering materials and supplies. Under Texas law, all purchases of $50,000 or more must be approved by the City Council; however, some items of less than $50,000 may also be submitted by the city manager for City Council approval.   • No applications or permits are required to have a garage sale. However, garage sales may not be conducted more than one time or for more than two consecutive days each calendar quarter per year. In no event shall a garage sale be conducted either before 7:00 am or after 7:00 pm on any one day of sale.

    Once the fine and costs are assessed, a cashier's check or money order may also be mailed to the Municipal Court at: P.O. Box 586 Rockdale, TX 76567


    The Municipal Court does accept payment by credit or debit card, a 5% processing fee will be added to the payment. Payments for citations may also be made online.
