Lead Service Lines
Beginning October 16, 2024, revised Federal Guidelines went into effect to address potential lead/copper contamination in the drinking water of all Public Water Systems (PWS) in the US. This LCRR intensified the EPA’s efforts to identify the following:
- Water sources containing lead.
- Water sources producing corrosive water.
- Communities that have lead piping in their PWS service lines.
- Homes, businesses, and institutions that have lead piping or lead solder in their private service lines or plumbing.
